A full day of tourism today. We started straight out with the City Palace. Maharaja Singh is in the palace today (the red light on the dome). According to our guide, Santoosh, Mewar is the second longest dynasty in the world. Japan has the longest.

The city was named after Maharaja Udai Singh who met a holy man on the hill and told him to build his palace on this spot and it would be well protected. The city was never taken in 500 years.
